Working with Schools and Colleges
Counselling in Schools and Colleges
We offer all schools the option of an onsite counsellor who will work alongside existing mental health support to offer one to one counselling under the banner of Time To Talk. This allows the students at the school to access free independent counselling in a location that is an everyday place for them.
Currently Time To Talk offer 45 sessions a week across 6 schools in West Berkshire – a total of 1,659 sessions a year.
We have also recently started a pilot scheme in rural primary schools with an additional 5 sessions a week being offered in primary schools in the Hungerford/Lambourn area.
Assemblies and Talks
We offer a wide range of additional support to schools aimed at raising awareness and knowledge about children and young people’s mental and emotional health. We offer both psychoeducation and therapeutic groups covering a variety of relevant topics such as removing stigma, the teenage brain, exam stress, supporting your own and others mental health, self esteem among others. We also offer information and workshops for parents and staff. All these sessions are delivered by qualified counsellors who have direct experience of working with children and young people individually and in groups.
Online Support
Our supported online programme is available for young people aged over 11 and parents/carers. It is an online platform which uses CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) tools to address unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours.
It teaches techniques to help change how people may think or behave so that they can feel differently about things. Everyone using the programme has an individual Time to Talk Supporter. We are able to work with Schools to discuss how this programme might work for your students.
